Legs from an early table, mortices cut.

Starting to turn to a smooth cylinder.

Originally from a stud wall in a house in St Just. Timber probably over 100 years old.

Lath nails have left their mark.

Some marks will be turned out as detail is added. Some will stay.

After cleaning, planing, cutting to shape and jointing. Weight is to resist bowing under pressure.

Right way up and released from clamps. Tape bridging joints shows where biscuit joints were cut.
